Campbell Lake is located  in the Townships of Walkerville and Newfield near Hesperia in Oceana County. This scenic Michigan lake consists of 187 acres of surface waters and has reported depths of 41 feet. This lake truly has the feeling of an “Up North” Michigan lake with its  wooded, natural beauty throughout all four seasons. This lake has some year round residences, but mainly seasonal cottages.

There is a very rustic park on the west side of  Campbell Lake, just off 176^th street. You can find a gravel boat launch and a rather rough outhouse.

The eastern side of the lake is home to an inner city Christian youth camp called Camp Tall Turf, a camp of over 300 acres with an estimated 2000 feet of lake frontage.

I know there is an interesting story regarding the history of the camp, but just do not remember enough of it to share.
