Arrived here 6:30 p.m., 472 miles from home. Will move on to Leland in the morning, another 100 miles or so. Will tell you all about the fish when we get there. We plan to stay there for ten days and then come back home.

We have been here the last few days, the Michigan weather agrees with us, sunny and warm. Lake Michigan is just a short walk away, miles and miles of sand and dunes. So beautiful. Will be hard to leave this area. Just wanted to let you know we are okay.

Our family stayed at Shanks Resort several times in the mid 1950's. We had been going to northern Wi. for a few years and decided to go to Shanks. Oh my did we enjoy Mich. and Lake Hamlin and Shanks Resort. We're from Muncie, lN. I cried like a baby when we left for the last time in the 50's. Always wanted dad to move there but he passed away Oct. 3rd 1960. I was a senior in high school at that time. Oh how l loved Shanks Resort. So many memories. You folks in Mich. are the greatest.
