Guernsey Lake has no known public access and is considered a private lake. The lake is divided into two distinctive bodies of water, the eastern portion of Guernsey Lake being larger and deeper. Both sections of the lake are connected by a narrow, shallow channel. The park type area along the canal is not a park at all, but private property that actually is owned and used by the adjacent trailer park/resort. With a name like Guernsey, one may think there is only one Guernsey Lake in the state, but there is another. A deeper, but smaller Guernsey Lake is located just outside of Kalkaska in Kalkaska County. Its summer, go out and enjoy a Michigan lake. |

Guernsey Lake can be found in Hope Township in central portion of Barry County. This Michigan lake boasts of 218 acres of surface waters with reported depths of up to 28 feet. The lake is mainly developed with a mix of seasonal cottages and year round homes.
